If you have a crawlspace foundation, you’re in good company. Crawl spaces are especially common in the Southeast where they are found in nearly 9 million existing homes and 70,000 new homes a year.
While crawls are inexpensive to build and convenient places for plumbing and duct work, they, unfortunately can host a variety of serious moisture and insulation problems.
Condensation, surface mold grown, high wood moisture content and wood rot are commonly found in crawls. The typical cure has been to install additional ventilation vents and/or fans to move outside air throughout the crawl space. The problem: Outside air contains more water vapor than the air under your home most of the year in our region. Rather than drying your crawl, the outside air ends up contributing water vapor to the crawl space.
MoistureLoc offers several waterproofing techniques to transform your crawl space into a dry clean space. |
